Layered Art Information

From the first design to the finished frame: how a layered 3D printed artwork is made.

What is layered wall art?

Layered wall art creates strong dimensional depth by stacking multiple design layers into one cohesive display piece. This creates shadow contrast and visual detail that traditional flat prints cannot achieve.

Our layered artwork is produced with precision 3D printing and carefully assembled components. Each piece is designed for structural strength, clean edges and long-lasting durability in a home or office.

Popular uses include gaming room decor, office wall features, modern living room displays and personalised statement walls.

How a piece is made

  1. 1. Design

The image is designed, created and colour optimised in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.

  2. 2. HueForge

The optimised image is imported into HueForge to create the layered image code. Many hours, sometimes days, go into layer optimisation and colour.

  3. 3. Slice

The HueForge export is imported into the 3D printer slicer. A finely tuned print profile is used for every layered print.

  4. 4. Print

Each image gets its own layer modifiers. Matte, silk and standard PLA filaments build the light and shadow that make a Picture That Pops.

  5. 5. Frame

The finished print is mounted in a matte black frame with a printed stand.

Best viewing distance

The intricate layering is amazing up close, but layered artwork is best viewed from approximately 3 metres.
